Morning Walks

I posted this on Discord last weekend:
According to my watch, which knows too much about me, my cardio peak this week was walking a klick from a theatre to a friend’s place on Monday. Boo, I say. I’m going to start walking first thing every morning.
How’s that going?
- I went out for four of seven days. Of those, one day I walked to work; another day I walked to the beach; and the remaining days I walked around the block (to go to Tim Hortons).
- I have to have my morning shower, otherwise the day is off. I don’t want to go for a walk before the shower, because then I have to get dressed, undressed, and dressed again.
- Going for a walk after a shower is a hassle, because I have long hair, and I don’t even want to get dressed until it’s dried a bit.
- I meant to walk to work another two days this week, but between darkness and tiredness, I’ve barely been logging in on time at home.
- I have a bad habit of looking at my phone first thing in the morning.
That’s not impressive, but it’s a start. I’d say my big problem is dragging my feet in the morning. Today, for example, I went for a morning walk, but I spent a lot of time on my phone and my computer first.
With that in mind, here’s the plan:
- Shock treatment. I’m going to try to immediately shower after waking up, then eat breakfast while my hair dries. That should give me more time.
- Consider biking to work in the morning. It’s not a walk, but it’d be easier to fit into my schedule.
