Hi, I’m Nigel Grégoire. I live in Vancouver, Canada. This is my website.

Fun facts:

  • I’ve read all of Neal Stephenson’s Baroque Cycle. Repeatedly.
  • I’m a huge fan of the Dragon Quest series, particularly IX.
  • I had the best pastry-related roleplaying experience of all time.
  • I lived in Dublin, Ireland for two years. Get me drunk to hear my fake Irish accent.

In my spare time I like travelling, playing games, and resisting the urge to play Plants vs. Zombies.

Like Pablo Escobar’s runaway hippos, Nigel Grégoire is a potent animal out of his element. Pulled from his usual ecosystem and dropped into another, less-suitable one; forced to trod around the jungles (these are metaphorical jungles, mind you) searching for the lost members of his tribe, or pack, or whatever. (I just looked it up, it’s called a “bloat” of hippos.) Anyway, Nigel is like them, and he’s on the fringes of your life, majestic and powerful and also lost, a victim of pure circumstance in an environment not his own due to powerful forces outside of his control. He plows through life anyway. This is how life works. You adapt. You grow and you find new ways to survive. You eat a new diet. You learn the new dangers of your environment. You mate with the native species. And every now and then you think of Pablo Escobar. Why did he even bring you here? Just for show? Just because he could? But then you have to eat, and you have to sink into the Magdalena River up to your eyes and think for a while. This is who you are now. You are Nigel Grégoire.
