East Van Panto: West Van Story

OK, I just explained pantos. Moving on!

Holly’s the daughter of an evil real estate developer (boo!) in West Vancouver. Her mother-father plans to demolish Grandview Lanes on the Drive and replace it with a condo tower (boo!). She meets Joe’s¹ at a party in East Vancouver, and they instantly fall in love (yay!). Unfortunately, he belongs to a rival curling team, and they live in Grandview Lanes (gasp!). Will they be able to reconcile their differences, or is the East Van Cross right when he says he’s seen Romeo and Juliet, and it’s going to end with everyone dead?

This was great. I think my favourite scene was when Holly and Joe’s met in front of the East Van Cross on Clark and 6th, and had to keep avoiding trucks while the guy playing the cross told them that they should just move to Mission (it’s really nice out there). Or maybe it was when Holly and Joe’s left to Kingsgate Mall, only for a series of retired school teachers to convince them to confront their problems. Lots of fun, eh!
