Random pics!

DSCN1865

Looking at downtown Calgary from the north side of the Bow River.

DSCN1884

Verily, this is an arctic wasteland. Will summer ever return?

DSCN1907

Downtown Calgary has a lot of office towers. Shimmery.

DSCN1919

The Calgary Tower. It’s actually much taller than the building on the left. Stupid angle.

DSCN1930

Scary iron horsy!

DSCN1931

This is a bit of Stephen Avenue, which was built during a boom in the early 1900s. It’s preserved as a (part-time) pedestrian shopping area. All the little old charming buildings are surrounded by skyscrapers.

DSCN1935

That’s 8th Ave in downtown Calgary. It’s a transit corridor, reserved for the C-Train and busses.

DSCN1958

… I just really like the colours in this pic.

DSCN1960

Yet another picture of downtown Calgary. It so crazy!

DSCN1967

This was at a Bass Pro Shop in the Crossiron Mills mall north of Calgary. It was insane, and a taxidermist’s dream. There were dead animals all over the store, fake landscapes (including a waterfall and lake).

DSCN1972

Also at Crossiron Mills. Nifty!

DSCN1980

Downtown from the Calgary Tower.

DSCN1984

In the distance, yes, are the Rockies. So far away…

DSCN1991

An outdoor rink downtown. Calgary’s not that bad, really.

Just three more sleeps, then I fly back home. YARR!!!
